New handbag OOTD….

I'm not really a handbag person….I have a couple of handbags and just rotate between them depending on what I'm wearing. So when my handbags all started breaking on me it was time to replace them and I was seriously picky. It only took me a few months to decide on the perfect bag!

I found this little beauty in Aldo and had been lusting after it for a while before I finally said 'yes! you're the one!'.

Dress - Boohoo
Denim jacket - Sportsgirl (Australia)
Bag - Aldo
Watch - Asos
Necklace - Forever21

I'm even tempted to go back for the black version!

You're gonna hear me roar...

Sunglasses & watch - ASOS
Dress - Ice (Australia)
Sandals - Aldo

I'm so into my maxi dresses at the moment....such an easy summer staple now the weather is heating up and I can't be bothered to faff around with picking outfits that look good and keep me cool. Also, props to my Aldo sandals I picked up in the sale before I came away to Aus...considering I'm not a 'sandal person' I've lived in them

Update and wedding outfit...

Hey all, so I'm back in Australia! I've been back a week and it's been pretty hectic - job hunting, recovering from jet lag, a wedding and of course enjoying being back with the boyfriend. It's no where near as hot over here as it is back in England (it is Aussie winter after all!) so I'm afraid a lot of my outfit posts over the next few weeks might not be too in keeping with the English weather but hey-ho, some could say I'm a season ahead!

So like I said, wedding time! And who doesn't love a wedding? It was a beautiful day, beautiful views (I stole some of Ty's pictures!) and beautiful bride.

Ty wore: Jacket - H&M
T-shirt - Target (Australia)
Jeans - River Island
Shoes - Office

I wore: Jacket - JayJays (Australia)
Dress - H&M (pretty old, definitely not still in stores now!)
Watch - ASOS
Sandals - Aldo

Skirt & Necklace: Primark
Bag: River Island

And then for an all you can eat chinese with the boyfriend last night (any excuse to stuff yourself silly really) and made the most of the nice weather to wear a floaty dress for maximum belly feeding!

Three ways to wear....a maxi dress...

It's been such odd weather, this time last week I was boiling and moaning I couldn't get cool, now I'm moaning about the total opposite! I've lived in maxi dresses this summer, and I've got a couple that I don't really want to put away in the back of my wardrobe just yet, so here's some different ideas on how to wear yours....

Work

Maxi: Primark
Blazer and handbag: H&M
Belt: off a playsuit from Very Moda

I wore this look quite a bit over the summer with a pleated maxi skirt instead of a dress. It looks quite smart and is nice and comfy, but I’m not sure how much longer you could get away with wearing it for now the weathers turning.

Night

Dress: Primark
Wedges: Forever21
Clutch: Bank

I’d personally never really think to wear a maxi skirt or dress for a night out as my sort of nights out usually involve hours of heavy dancing, spilt drinks from the idiots who frequent my local town, and walking the streets eating chicken nuggets until 5am (I am classy, honest). This would be nice to go for a drink or out for dinner though, and you could put a denim jacket over it for these cold nights we’re not getting.

Day

Dress and Bag: Primark
Boots: Office
Cardigan: New Look

This is my favourite of the looks, and could be worn for so many occasions. It's a great way to bring the maxi dress into the winter and I think you could layer this up underneath quite a lot too with leggings and vest tops for extra warmth.

How else would you wear your maxi dress? Would you still wear it with a jumper for the winter?

Holiday evening OOTD's....

Hello again, and it's time for part two! I've done a separate post for night time outfits because they're a bit more interesting, and I didn't want to overdo the pictures in one post so I thought I'd split them up.

This was the first night when we'd only just got there so I don't look my best. The dress was £23 from Primark, bag was from Primark too for about £5, belt was free on a pair of trousers Mum bought ages ago and necklace was in the sale from Miss Selfridge.

The whole of this outfit was from Primark, the skirt was a bargain at about £12 and I'd been saving it especially for holiday, I think it's one of those things that only comes out of my wardrobe once a year when I'm off on my holidays! My earings were in the sale from River Island for £2 and I used my Andrew Barton wave makers on my hair to give it a beachy effect.

You'll probably have seen this skirt in an OOTD post on here before, it was £25 from River Island (the studded belt came with it) and I wore it with a baggy sheer top from H&M and a black lacy bandeau from Miss Selfridge underneath it (although you can't really see that here). My sandals, bracelets and necklace are all from Primark.

This is my favourite outfit of the holiday, I bought this dress ages ago from H&M for £30 and have been waiting for a chance to wear it for ages (which never came up). I put it with Mums pale pink sandals from Dorothy Perkins, Primark bracelets and H&M rings, with a short gold chain with a cross from Topshop, and a long gold fine chain from ASOS.

For our last night out (we didn't go out for food the last two nights because we were late getting back from the Jeep Safari and Egypt. I wore a Rare at Topshop dress I got in the sale at the start of the summer. The tan handbag is from Primark ages ago and I'm sure everyone had one of these, and my wedges were from Forever21.

So anyway that's my holiday over :( Looking back on these pictures makes me really want to go back, Cyprus was amazing!

Can't wait to get back into blogging and youtube again properly, I've missed you all!

It's all about me me me....

I am LOVING this weather so much....quick picture of my outfit today which does, of course, include some coral as I have too much of it in my life right now, it's be far my colour of the moment....

My cardigan was from my H&M haul last week, and the dress is Primark from ages ago that I hadn't got around to wearing yet.

I popped back into Superdrug (again) today and in amongst all my usual brands I came across Me Me Me which, it seems, has had an overhaul and looks fab! The packaging is very Benefit-esque but it’s a fraction of the price and some of the products were great. I only picked up a couple of things from their range, to see what they were like really as I’d never really tried them before.

Firstly I picked up this lipstick which comes in a really cute little cardboard package, and is such a beautiful moisturising coral colour. It’s really strong and pigmented, is really long lasting and probably one of my favourite lipsticks I’ve ever bought (apart from Mac Saint Germain obv).

I also bought their blusher in coral, which is packaged exactly like Benefit blushers, and I have to say with a similar finish. Again, as with the benefit blushes, I don’t like the brush at all. It’s pointless, is rough on my skin and doesn’t give a very even finish, but other than that this blush is lovely. This is my first coral coloured blush I’ve ever tried and, due to my absolute obsession with all things coral at the moment, I’m not disappointed! I've got the coral blush on in my OOTD picture above.

Only shopping will do....

When you've had a trauma like I had this morning, this really is the case. I did something I've not done since I was 10....fall over. Straight on my knees, the full blow cushioned by my poor River Island handbag and my blackberry (luckily I had my case on it to take the scuffs). The main difference being, when I fell over when I was 10, I was allowed to scream blue murder while someone nursed my poor bloody knee with an antiseptic wipe and pop on a Barbie plaster. When you're 22 however, you have to put on a brave face, walk the remaining few yards to the bus and pretend there's nothing wrong. Worst bit is, I fell on my dodgy knee that had only just started to get better! Clearly I'm back to square one again.

So like I said, I comforted myself with a lunchtime trip to Primark.

I was in serious need of some undies now the summer's coming. My dingy white bra's and skanky elastic-less pants won't cut it, so naturally it's Primark for brilliantly priced, good quality smalls. For £1 a pair, who cares if you only wear them a couple of times or you fake tan in them and they turn a manky shade of brown?

I have developed a maxi skirt obsession, it's kind of out weighing my trouser obsession at the moment, although I appreciate they're not always the most practical of clothing items. I adore this one, £16 from Primark. I especially love the black bit around the bottom, because it saves the cream becoming discoloured. Haven't tried it on yet but from twirling it around the kitchen a few times, it looks like it's going to have a lovely movement to it. I think I'll wear it with black sandals and a black loose cami top. I also think it will look nice with a black or coloured bandeau if I ever get a flat stomach (must.stay.away.from.crisps!) If it's long enough, I'm considering it with black heeled worker boots.....

This one could cause tears later. I had to buy an 8 and I'm usually a 10 in this style from Primark, but I could NOT let this one go so I risked it. It is truly beautiful and it is gettin worn asap. I'll probably pick a colour out of it for my sandals (orange or maybe pink) and wear a plain black vest with it. I'm off with a coffee with one of my besties tomorrow so I'm hoping it will be nice enough to crack this out with my cropped denim jacket. Love at first sight (fingers crossed it fits....)

And yes you may well recognise it. I've got it in navy black and tan and wore it on a previous post, and got SO MANY comments when I wore it that I had to go and get the cream and navy one. Fits like a dream, is so easy to wear with some sandals and a skinny wait belt tied around the middle.

Just a couple of outfits from the week.

The was from work on Thursday, dress and tights from Primark, suede shoe boots from Office.

Went for a drive and a chill with a mate in his new car, Jeggings from Zara, top from New York and customised with the sleeves ripped off, boat shoes Office. I'm sure these haven't come off my feet since I bought them!!

Anyway my knee's killing, and I need a green tea to ease the pain. Oh ok what I really need is a large glass of rose, but this bloody detox is going to work even if it kills me....

Bank Holiday Pt 2....

Now, I'd love to say that this Bank Holiday was a wild one but, well, it wasn't. Been feeling rubbish and a bit down (missing a certain someone who's buggard off to Newquay which naturally means we have less communication that we did when he lived around the corner).

I went out Thursday in a horrible denim dress that for some reason I thought would be a good idea to buy but I ended up feeling seriously self conscious all night so will be relegating to wear with a cardigan and sandals in the daytime (not to self, I don't do strapless).

So Friday was the Royal Wedding and, I'll happily admit, I cried. Twice. Only a tear in the eye moment, but still an emotional one. I thought Kate looked sensational, and was so glad she went for McQueen. I literally squealed with excitement when I caught a glimpse of Sarah Burton helping Kate into the car outside the hotel!! Also, all credit to The Queen, colour blocking like a pro in yellow. And of course, Pippa. Stole the show in her dress, with a figure to die for!!!

Speaking of figures, my detox started today, and I celebrated the last supper with a 4 plater all you can eat Chinese buffet. But all the fun's ended and I'm on a serious green tea diet.....I am a huge fan of green tea normally, but usually just standard or with a hint of lemon...

I've decided to get a little bit more adventurous though and raided Morrisons tea aisle for variations...

I have to say, White Tea is incredible. Not such a strong flavour as green tea, but still got the same health qualities. I'm yet to try any of these fruity green teas but I'm hoping for a success!

I also got a bag of ground Flax Seeds to put into yogurt or over my cereal in the morning to hopefully prevent my 10.30am cravings of anything and everything edible. Not sure how I'm going to take to these but I'll try anything once and at the bargain price of £1.75 who can say no???

So anyway I did a car boot sale on Sunday morning and made a successful wedge of cash which is going on a tank of petrol with a fair bit left over, that I won't lie was spent in H&M today on this....

Skirt was £7.99 and for those days where I can't bear to wear tights to work!! It's just the right length to wear bare legs to work, and will look cute with a little white cami and some tan lofa 's or boat shoes.

This picture really doesn't show this dress off to it's full beauty....seriously stunning for £30! I know I said I didn't do strapless but the way this sits is all ruffled around the top so gives the illusion of a bigger chest so I can wear a suitable bra haha!! It's pale pink and black, again you can't quite tell in this dress. So I have the beautiful dress, all I need now is a hot man to take me out on a hot date.....although chance would be a fine thing!

And what girl could be without a few bandeau tops now the summer is here. I've got so many drop arm sleeve tops that need a bit more than just a bra underneath....so I've always been a massive fan of these!! Two for £6.99 is always a winner!

And what did I wear for my final supper and my shopping trip...?

New boat shoes from office, with my H&M drop crotch trousers (which I managed to get egg fried rice down....) and a Topshop black cami, and my new cropped bleach denim jacket I got in Birmingham on my shopping trip with the girls the other day. And of course, my new favourite Hot Chilli Rimmel lipstick.

Other than all this, it's been a pretty relaxing weekend...and so the detox starts here. Well, after watching Up with Dad (who claim's it's the saddest film he's ever watched. No, genuinely, he's almost in tears...)

I blame the heat...

On the amount of shopping I want to do! I'm setting myself a challenge starting today. I'm giving up shopping. Yes you heard. No more clothes shopping for me AT ALL (apart from essentials like tights, pants, the odd vest top from Primark) and no unnecessary purchasing of makeup (and by this I mean no lunchtime trips to the Mac counter!). I'll only replace if necessary, and under NO circumstances will I decide I need a new nail varnish (because let's face it, I don't).

So to make up for it, I have treated myself over the past few days. There's the new handbag I mentioned in the previous post (although I did need this!) for £25 from H&M, and the grey Office sandals were my uniform shoes for work so I didn't actually have to pay for these (LOVES a pair of free shoes!). I've wanted the hightop pink converse for ages, and now we've had some nice weather I thought they'd get worn so I purchased them....I'm actually sat in the garden right now wearing them with a pair of denim shorts and a black and pink flowery croptop from New Look about 4 years ago!

The boat shoes from Office were a 'treat' and a bit of an impulse buy. I'd actually seen some boat shoes in Next ages ago when Mum dragged me in there to look for some brogues for her, and I'd ummm-ed and ahhh-ed about them for a while, but these Office ones are so much nicer. Can't wait to crack these out with my rolled up chino's and plain black vest, or with a black maxi and cropped denim jacket!

So here's to day one of the no-shopping test (I'd like to point out how I started off on the easiest day ever....Easter Sunday when there are no shops open!) Wish me luck!!

Bank Holiday Pt 1....

Has been just as I'd anticipated. Messy.

Thursday at work I wore my H&M shorts with my new Primark top and shoes. I absolutely had to get this top it was SO cute!

Thursday night was full of wine, vodka and lots of laughs with the girls:

(l-r) Steph had her new Forever 21 dress on with tan shoes from Evans and a belt borrowed from yours truly. Kellie had wedges from New Look (her dancing shoes apparently) and flowery shorts from H&M (short envy). Sarah had her new dress from Zara she bought in Birmingham, and her gorgeous mary jane heels from New Look. I wore my River Island flowery skirt and 3 year old River Island wooden heels that are still going strong today!

On Friday I went into Leicester shopping with mum and dad, and went out for dinner (I'll be honest with you, I only went for the free food!!) I did buy a new handbag but that's only because I didn't have a bag to go with the above outfit so I went straight to River Island to buy a new one (disappointingly didn't have one I liked so ended up in H&M for a HUGE tan number that I'm a bit in love with for the bargain of £25!!)

Anyway I wore a maxi dress from Primark, tan sandals from New Look and a plaited tan belt that Mum had free on a pair of trousers!! I went a bit over board on bangles that are all a mixture of Primark and New Look, and my feather earings from Topshop. The sunglasses were from a random show in New York that I LOVE! Absolutely classic shape, will never date.

On Friday night I went to a party with Steph but kept is casual with my new Jeggings from Zara, a white crop from Topshop, and my amazing coral wedges from New Look (thought I'd test drive them on a night where I didn't have to be up all night dancing, and I have to say they were a success!!)

Got it all again tonight as well....another night in HTC with Steph...now what to wear....
