Weekly review....No7 Eyelashes....

Evening lovelies!! Hope everyone's well! I'm super excited as I've finished work for the week and just packing a few things up to head back to Lincoln (my old Uni city!) to see some of the girls to celebrate Emma's birthday.....packing is causing me some serious stress right now!

Anyway I won't be posting until Sunday probably now so thought I'd get a quick weekly review up for you all....on my AMAZING No7 false eyelashes....

Now when I think of lashes I think of Eylure ot Ardell, and usually reach for the same ones every time. But a while back when there was a lot of £5 for No7 floating around I randomly picked up some of their lashes on a bit of a whim, thinking I might as well use the voucher.

Now correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure they're £7 originally, so with the £5 off that makes them the bargainous £2!!! I wore them when I went out at the weekend and showed them in my last post here. They went on super easy and stayed put all night and although I did use my trusty Eylure glue, I have heard the glue that comes with these lashes is really good so would probably use that next time. They blended so well with my own lashes, and even though I coated them in thick waterproof mascara they looked good as new when they came off so I'm anticipating a good few more wears out of these yet!!

I got the 'lash 30' which I'm assuming is the style name, like the 101's from Eylure. I have got no idea what other styles you can get these in but next time I'm in Boots I'll be doing my research.

Sorry about the glue on them, I never thought to take a pic before I wore them! But you can see how nicely they've come off after one use. Then I took a really scary pic of just one eye.....

To show you how amazing they are!

Has anyone else tried these? If so, have you tried any other styles?

Ebay Eyelashes...

I picked up some lashes on ebay recently, and I have to say I'm not too sure on them if I'm honest. You get 10 sets of lashes in the box and my immediate thought when I opened them was that they were HUGE!

I had to give the edges a bit of a trim, and some of them were a bit squashed but then I guess that was expected. They did come with glue but that went straight in the bin and I applied them with my trusty Eylure glue, but I just found them a bit awkward to apply. They were also far too big for my eyes, so I probably did need to cut them down a bit so they didn't reach right over the outer corner of my eye.

Anyway, here's a (black and white for some reason) picture of what they looked like. I can't say I love them but I just think they need a bit of practice. But to be fair for the price of £2.95 I'm certainly not complaining. If you fancy getting some then you can find them here

Has anyone else bought lashes of ebay? Will anyone be giving these a go?

Lash-tastic....

I was super excited when I popped into Superdrug (yes yes I know....again!!) after work today and saw they had their new eyelashes in. I'm sure you've heard a lot about them and there's lots of pictures of the range floating around blog-world, so I had to buy a pair and see what they're like. Obviously I haven't tested them yet....but as soon as I have I'll let you know! I went for ones pretty similar to the Eylure ones I usually buy, pretty long and thick, but I'll definitely give others a go if these ones are successful.

As well as these beauties, I also did rather a lot of shopping in (very early) preparation for my holiday to Cyrus at the end of the summer....if you want to see my haul from various shops then check it out below (I apologise for the still rubbish quality, I may have solved this problem so from now on I should have lovely clear/watchable videos)....

Also a quick outfit post from my last but one shift at Office...

READ THE BLOODY LABELS....

Just a quick one, I went into Boots before work today and made a few purchases. I am in serious need of new eyelashes so I thought I'd go wild and try some different ones that I've read quite a lot about on people's blogs recently...

I'm usually all about Eyelure. I've tried every single pairs of their lashes from natural daywear ones to double thickness dramatic ones. But I'd heard a lot about Ardell lashes so I went for number 105 which look similar to my favourite Eyelure ones. I'm not convinced I'll like the glue in these as I have never found one I like as much as Eyelure, but saying that I've got about 9 bottles in my makeup bag!

On the subject of eyelashes, HOW excited am I about the new Superdrug handmade eyelashes. For under £5 for a set of single thickness lashes, I REALLY can't wait to work my way through the collection. I've got July 6th written in my diary as a date to remember!!

I also took the plunge and went for an Illuminating pen for under my eyes. I don't really notice it much usually but in pictures my dark circles under my eyes are disgusting. I really want a top range one but went for Collection 2000 for my first one to see how I get on with it. I've heard great reviews on this for a cheaper end of the range product, although I think all of the shades looked REALLY pale for my skin so I might just use the tiniest amount and blend blend blend!

I also bought a new Mascara because I feel like I need to get out of my mascara rut. I always use Bourjoir clubbing in blackest black (normal in the day, waterproof at night) and wanted to see what the fuss was all about for these 'false lash effect' mascara.

Only problem is I didn't read the blood label and I picked up a brown/black colour which I CANNOT use so I'm going to have to give it to mum and go and buy a new one. Really annoyed because I wanted to use it straight away and test it out but nope, I'm an idiot and didn't buy the right one. So that's me off to boots on my lunch break tomorrow...

Essex Fashion....

Some people would call this an oxymoron. I personally think it makes sense.

Let’s look at a few examples:

Who doesn’t love a (slimming) all black outfit? Black wet look leggings and a floaty black top with lace detailing sounds spot on right? Add a pair of heels to make it glamorous and bob’s your uncle.
Now take a look at Jess and tell me she doesn’t look incredible (this top is also New Look so you can forget what you hear about having to wear designer to look this good).

How about enhancing your eyes with makeup?
Lauren opts for a subtle yet effective smokey eye along with pale glossy lips. Effortlessly beautiful.

Heels in the day? Teamed with pencil skirt and vintage top, Lydia rocks it. And the heels? They’re New Look.

And the maxi dress?
Maria goes high-street for her coloured flowing maxi underneath a gorgeous jacket.

OK so they sometimes get it wrong; but who doesn’t. The only difference is, when I wear a too tight/too slutty dress on a night out that flashes my pants and becomes see-through at the flash of a camera bulb, the whole of the ITV2 viewing public don’t see it.

(sorry I love you Amy but I'm just not too convinced on this one....)

I know that if I had the option to be as glamorous in my daily life as they can be, I certainly would. However I don’t think this....

....is suitable to be sat behind a desk trying to book a Hog Roast for 50 people at a housing development in North Hykeham.

This isn’t to say that I don’t try and add a bit of essex into my everyday life.

There’s always got to be some pink (Amy Childs, we share the same opinion on this!)

and I am a false eyelash addict (eyelure double lashes are incredible)

It’s got to be big hair, and tan tan tan! I would actually give my entire shoe collection (but can you please spare my River Island brown wooden heeled sandles?) to go to Amy’s Salon for an Amy Childs tan: “nice and brown but just a bit orange” (I love that girl).

Anybody who rocks highstreet the way they do and look so fab deserves some recognition in the style stakes, and not dismissed as ‘essex girls’. Quite frankly, I love them all and I’m insanely ‘jel’ of their wardrobe and lifestyle combined.
