Birthday & Collective Haul...

Hey lovelies...I finally got back on the ipad and recorded a new video (I know, it's been a while!) to show you some of the lovely things I had for my birthday and what I've been spending my pennies on over the past 6/8 weeks! To be honest most of them were gifts or sale purchases, although I have splurged a lot on knitwear and at the mac counter! 

Also as I mentioned on Twitter and in my video, my Mac £40 voucher is sat in my purse waiting to be spent so any ideas would be greatly received!

Happy birthday to me...

Wow I've been a terrible blogger recently, just been SO busy! Here's just a quick one to keep you going...


It was my birthday last week and I popped into Birmingham with my Mum and Dad to try and get my birthday present. I didn't really get much (don't know where my shopping mojo was that day!) but I will do a bit of a collective haul to show you what I did purchase over the weekend if I get chance!


I just threw on my trusty New Look denim shorts and Urban Outfitters cross top and of course my white converse...got to be comfy on your birthday!!

Me and the girls went out in Leicester on Saturday to celebrate me being old, and also as an excuse to show off my new 'plum' hair. I was a bit shocked at how dark it looked on my hair considering I'd seen a lot of other people dye their hair the exact same colour and looked so much lighter. I've not had chance to get a decent picture in natural light yet but I'll try and get one before it fades too much!

Oh yeah and I popped out last night to see one of my friends who'd come back from uni for a few days....unfortunately my fat bum split my original choice of skirt so I threw on an old Topshop body con skirt with my H&M leather jacket, and Primark bow tights/over the knee sock combo...

My shoe collection...

I posted a while ago that I might do a shoe collection and it got a great response so I spent a whole morning photographing my shoes...what a task that was!!


Sandals - I rarely wear these even in the hot weather, I'm more of a pumps girl, but I do like both my studded Primark pairs...

Next is trainers, I was actually really surprised at how few I'd got when I laid them out as this is what I wear most out of work...maybe means I need more?! My Nike vintage blazers are my favourite, if I could afford these in every colour I'd buy them!!

My week in outfits....

Hey lovelies hope you're all well! I'm lucky to have a three day weekend this weekend, Mondays my birthday so I've got the day off and heading to Birmingham with my mum and dad to do a bit of shopping and have some lunch....hopefully there will be a birthday haul coming your way next week!

 As I said, I had my nails done as an early birthday treat to myself. I always have gel nails done and always go for the natural ones so I can paint them weird and wonderful colours. I always ask for them short as well so I can get away with 3 weeks between getting them filled in. I go to Eden beauty and have Eva, who is amazing. I also have my eyebrows done by her so I highly recommend!

My current obsessions....

A bit different to my monthly favourites, this has a bit of everything in it! The first one is my new coat from River Island. I wanted one of these last year but never got around to buying one. This year I wasn’t missing out. £50 from River Island.

Mememe lipstick in Pashmina Pink. I hate that it melts, but I love the smell, consistency, glossy finish, colour, staying power and packaging. Wearing this makes me feel 10x better.

Little Miracles: Perfect hangover cure, and great to keep me awake during the first couple of hours at work, which is always a struggle!!

Wearing two pairs of tights at once. OK this isn’t actually a new obsession as I’ve been doing it for years but now the weathers turning Baltic, I can’t get enough of how cosy my legs have been.

Office Mudslingers. No this isn’t my odd nickname for them, that’s their name. I bought these a couple of weeks before I left Office and I can honestly say they are the comfiest heels I’ve ever bought and non of my other going out shoes have had a look in. I’ve never once fallen over in them (which is a huge bonus as I tend to do this when I’ve had a wine or 5) and they’ve never ever rubbed or made my feet sore. I can walk all the way home in them after spending hours on the dancefloor. They are actually more comfortable than a lot of my flat every day shoes. And they look beautiful which is an added bonus.

Blanx toothpaste. Again not a new find, I’ve used this for AGES but I did kind of stop for a while (don’t know why) and noticed my teeth weren’t as pearly white anymore. So I’m re-acquainted with my old friend and can’t wait to be able to blind people with my smile. If you’ve never tried this, DO IT!

Ed Sheeran. No explanation needed. If you’re not sure what I’m on about, listen to this….

TV. Apart from getting hooked on the odd reality show, I’ve never been big into TV. But now, X Factor (I LOVE MARCUS, MISCHA, THE RISK AND CRAIG!!), TOWIE, Made in Chelsea, Educating Essex, Celebrity Juice, Goks Fashion Roadshow, Young Soldiers, Sandhurst, Strictly Come Dancing, 71 degrees North, the Bachelor, and the bloody rugby (love rugby, hate the early morning starts on a weekend!!) are taking over my life. Good job it’s winter and I’m man-less, gives me a good excuse to hibernate under my duvet on the sofa!!

Make Up

Blush or Bronzer? Bronzer is probably my most used even though my blush collection is HUGE so I'd have to say Bronzer. 

Lipgloss or Lipstick? Lipstick. I think my collection of 64 speaks for itself 

Eyeliner or Mascara? Mascara else I look like a mole that's just come into the daylight (weird image there...)

Foundation or Concealer? I've only really recently started using concealer so definitely foundation! 

Brushes or Sponges? Oh my life I remember when I used to buy those bags of triangle sponges ALL the time to apply my Miss Sporty foundation that was clearly four shades too dark for me. Oh to be 14 again! Anyway, sorry, brushes! 

Nails

Long or short? Long (but not my own because I can't grow them) but within reason. Long-ish and squared off at the end. 

Acrylic or Natural? Acrylic. Well gel but yea same thing. Can't wait to get mine done again on Saturday!

Brights or Darks? Both sorry I know that's cheating. If I had to pick I'd say dark though. Black, navy and grey are my most worn I think!

Flower or no flower? Non. Don't do floral at the best of times. Plain nails, except a bit of glitter every now and again!

Body

Perfume or Body Splash? Perfume without a doubt. 

Lotion or Body Butter? Lotion, body butter takes me too much effort to rub in and I don't think my tan sits as well on it as it does on lotion. 

Body Wash or Soap? Body wash, soap gets messy!

Fashion

Jeans or Sweat Pants? Not a huge fan of either to be honest but probably jeans

Long Sleeve or Short? Short, long sleeves irritate the hell out of me!

Dresses or Skirts? Erm tough one. Can I say shorts? No? OK probably dresses! 

Stripes or Plaid? Stripy, particularly black and white at the moment!

Flip Flops or Sandals? Oh god I hate both!! Trainers? No that's cheating again? OK flipflops!

Scarves or Hats? Scarves, but not big wooly ones, I like the big cotton square ones with weird patterns on like skulls or zebras! 

Studs or Dangly Earrings? Studs, dangly one's annoy me usually! Especially at work when I'm answering the phone all the time!

Cowboy Boots or Riding Boots? Riding boots. Don't have any (I don't suit long boots) but I quite fancy a pair of these for the winter with leggings and a big jumper. 

Jacket or Hoodie? Jacket. In leather. 

Hair

Curly or Straight? Curly!

Bun or Ponytail? I feel like a child with a pony tail! Big messy topknot wins this

Bobby Pins or Butterfly Clips? Don't think I've owned butterfly clips since I was 11! Bobby pins get used on a daily basis in my hair!

Hair Spray or Gel? Spray all the time! This is another of my weaknesses!

Long or Short? Long, I've been trying to grow mine forever but it's just stopped. 

Light Or Dark? I've never been anything other than dark (brunettes have more fun no matter what they say!) so definitely dark!

Side Swept bangs or Full Bangs? I love a full fringe but I don't think it suits me so I grew it out, now I don't have anything it's all kind of the same length, but I probably prefer me with side swept

Up or Down? Prefer down but due to being a lazy cow my most worn is up because I'd rather have a extra 15 minutes in bed in the morning!

Random

Rain or Shine? Shine! Rain stresses me out! 

Summer or Winter? Summer for the good mood it puts people in, but winter for curling up on the sofa in front of the fire, and of course for Christmas!!

Fall or Spring? Fall/autumn because this is my favourite season to dress for!

Chocolate or Vanilla? As a scent, vanilla. To eat, chocolate!!

New shoes....
