Summer brights....

I’m quite new to the whole Sleek range of products, I’ve never really bothered with them before but the past couple of items I’ve bought I’ve been beyond pleased with. For the price, I think the quality of both the product and packaging is brilliant, it feels like really high end stuff! I’d seen quite a lot about the new Sleek Mediterranean range on blogs and on their twitter account, so I popped down to Superdrug today on my lunch break and thought I’d take a look. Now I’m not a huge fan of bright eye shadows on me (I love a neutral!) so even thought the colours in the eye shadow palette were beautiful, I decided to go for the blusher instead.

The packaging is gorgeous, and event though it is BRIGHT it does blend really well as you can see. I’ll probably wear it with quite a glossy pink lip, a bold brow and lots of mascara.

Has anyone else tried anything from the new range?

NOTD....

Hey guys sorry I’ve been a bit MIA recently this week, not been feeling to great and just wanted to come home and crash on the sofa every night. That means you get two posts this evening (I actually wrote this one yesterday then was too lazy to put it up!) and first up is a quick nail of the day.

Since I’ve had me gel nails on (which are getting too long now but I’ve still got A WEEK to wait until I can have them in filled and done) I’ve had to be careful what colours I wear, as I always worry about putting a dark colour on and staining them. I’ve swapped between coral and mint green since having them done; until I came across a new nail varnish I’d not used yet lying in the bottom of one of a box which is always exciting. It’s one of the Collection 2000 Hot Looks colours in Candy Floss and it’s such a gorgeous colour.

I’m a fan if this range of nail colours anyway, I think they have a lovely range of shades, but this one might be my favourite yet!!

(hate how zoom makes my nail painting efforts look terrible!!)

Lash-tastic....

I was super excited when I popped into Superdrug (yes yes I know....again!!) after work today and saw they had their new eyelashes in. I'm sure you've heard a lot about them and there's lots of pictures of the range floating around blog-world, so I had to buy a pair and see what they're like. Obviously I haven't tested them yet....but as soon as I have I'll let you know! I went for ones pretty similar to the Eylure ones I usually buy, pretty long and thick, but I'll definitely give others a go if these ones are successful.

As well as these beauties, I also did rather a lot of shopping in (very early) preparation for my holiday to Cyrus at the end of the summer....if you want to see my haul from various shops then check it out below (I apologise for the still rubbish quality, I may have solved this problem so from now on I should have lovely clear/watchable videos)....

Also a quick outfit post from my last but one shift at Office...

It's all about me me me....

I am LOVING this weather so much....quick picture of my outfit today which does, of course, include some coral as I have too much of it in my life right now, it's be far my colour of the moment....

My cardigan was from my H&M haul last week, and the dress is Primark from ages ago that I hadn't got around to wearing yet.

I popped back into Superdrug (again) today and in amongst all my usual brands I came across Me Me Me which, it seems, has had an overhaul and looks fab! The packaging is very Benefit-esque but it’s a fraction of the price and some of the products were great. I only picked up a couple of things from their range, to see what they were like really as I’d never really tried them before.

Firstly I picked up this lipstick which comes in a really cute little cardboard package, and is such a beautiful moisturising coral colour. It’s really strong and pigmented, is really long lasting and probably one of my favourite lipsticks I’ve ever bought (apart from Mac Saint Germain obv).

I also bought their blusher in coral, which is packaged exactly like Benefit blushers, and I have to say with a similar finish. Again, as with the benefit blushes, I don’t like the brush at all. It’s pointless, is rough on my skin and doesn’t give a very even finish, but other than that this blush is lovely. This is my first coral coloured blush I’ve ever tried and, due to my absolute obsession with all things coral at the moment, I’m not disappointed! I've got the coral blush on in my OOTD picture above.

NOTD....

Hi girls,  hope you’ve all been enjoying the sun today. It’s amazing how a little bit or sunshine can make everyone so much more positive and happy.

It’s also making me want to change my nail varnish ways….away from blacks/reds etc and on to brighter colours. You may have seen I’ve bought a few recently but I picked this one up a few weeks ago and never really tried it but I have to say I love it! It’s a beauty UK polish which are actually brilliant, it needed two coats but then I always find that with any colour other than black (hence it’s over use in my life).

(sorry they're messy!!)

Also a quick snap of me this morning before I went to work (to sit in the windowless cave that is the PR office). I went for my New Look palazzo pants finally, I’ve had them since April and haven’t worn them yet!

Top: Primark
Trousers: New Look
Watch: ASOS
Rings: Dorothy perkins and Primark
Necklaces: Primark and H&M

Fingers crossed we get this weather for a bit longer!

Oh My Gosh…

Popped into Superdrug yet again to day and it looks even better than last time. In case you don’t follow me on Twitter, my local Superdrug is having a re-furb and is looking fab, with new makeup counters and a brow threading bar. I think they’re doing this in quite a lot of the bigger stores and it is such an improvement!

Anyway the makeup stands are amazing now, and I was especially attracted to the GOSH stand and the 3 for 2 sign hanging up in it!

As you may or may not know, I don’t really have eyebrows. I do, but they’re really fair considering my hair colour, and sort of half the length of most peoples, so I would never ever leave the house without some brow maintenance, and I’ve really been experimenting with this just recently. I still have my dirty blonde rimmel pencil, but I’ve been finding some careful blending with me new elf shape and fill double ended pencil in a much darker shade than I would usually choose has been giving me a more defined and dramatic look. Whilst browsing GOSH I came across their new long lasting eyebrow pen which looks a bit like a felt tip pen, which I picked up in 004 Wheat. Again this is darker than what I’ve used in the past and I think it will take a fair bit of practice because mistakes are not easy to correct!

(sorry about this picture, it just would not be clear!!)

I also picked up their long lasting eye liner pen in 008 Carbon black which was a bit of a revelation for me as I’m a kohl girl through and through. I haven’t used it yet but it’s a nice fine tip which should go on quite neatly. What other liquid eye liners does everyone recommend? Or even gel liners that I am also yet to try?

Finally I picked up another one of their limited edition nail varnished since my amazing discovery with their Lavender shade last week. It literally DID NOT chip. For three whole days, I was left with perfect nails and I never found a nail varnish that has ever done that before due to my extremely brittle and pealing nails! I can't tell you what shade it's in because they stuck the security tag over it but I'll research for you.

It's a bit standard for be as I have loads of pink colours in my collection, but now I finally have one that doesn’t chip at the first opportunity!! I’ll probably save this for a bit though because as I’ve got my gel nails on I can wear any nail varnish without it chipping, which I am loving!!
