My Big News...

Hi guys! On my last post I mentioned I had some big news and I had lots of messages asking what it was so I thought now would be the time to tell you! If you follow me on Twitter you'll already know this, but I'm off to Australia for a year! I'm going on a 12 month work visa with a gap year company who help you settle in and help you find jobs or carry on travelling for the full 12 months.

It's all very exciting but unfortunately I've got to wait until 11th June so you haven't got rid of me just yet.

This means, and I get sad just thinking about it, that me and Walking In Heels are going to be parting ways for the 12 months I'm out in Oz. The blog will still be here though and no doubt I'll come back and visit occasionally to see what you've all been up to so do say hi!

If you want to keep up with my Oz adventures I'll be glued to Twitter no doubt, to keep in touch with family and friends as well as document my year away, so if you want to see what I'm up to follow me here!

In the mean time I will still be posting on here as usual, reading everyone's blogs and generally carrying on as normal, but towards the end I may do some packing for a gap year videos/posts about what I'm taking with me so any requests just let me know.

Lastly I just want to say THANK YOU so much for being such lovely followers and leaving me amazing comments over the past year, I really do love each and every one of you as soppy as that sounds!!

Weekly Review....Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser....

Now I'm the first to admit I've never jumped on the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish bandwagon. For me and my highly sensitive skin, I didn't want to risk spending that much on one single product that was going to achieve nothing but a break out on my face. I'd seen and heard quite a bit about this little wonder and as I'm a religious purchaser of the Vitamin E body moisturiser I thought for £3.99 (it was on offer, I think it's usually £4.99 but I may be wrong) I'd give it a go.

First off, I love that it's not scented, not greasy, and you get a lot of product for your money. It removes 90% of my makeup and leaves my skin feeling clear. I would recommend a good moisturiser after this as it did dry my skin out a bit, but other than that I have no complaints. It's a good, basic staple skin care product and, as with most of this Vitamin E range, does what it says on the 'tin'. So no, OK, it won't look glamorous on your bathroom shelf but if it does the job and is reasonably priced, who cares really?

Just massage onto skin (I do it immediately after I've showered) the buff it off in circular motion with the cloth provided that I run under the warm tap. I just rinse my face with cold water and I'm done! For me, this is my little skin miracle. It's helped to calm down the redness I was having and has really made my skin feel a lot fresher. I don't think I can recommend this enough!

Has anyone else tried this and loved it?

Three ways to wear....lace....

I used to own a lot of lace but realised there was only certain ways it could be worn to look good. Browsing through my wardrobe I decided to pull some of the pieces out that I still own and put a few looks together to show you how I wear lace.

Smart: I'd wear this look for work, basically just a lace shirt from the New Look sale a few years ago, with some black jeggings and the Allegra boots from Topshop. For cooler days, I'd pop a blazer over the top.

Night out: I'm not one for dresses but this is a real old staple in my wardrobe. It was about £13 from Primark and I've worn it to death but if I ever need to 'dress up' I have this as an option. I just paired it with a nude bag, some black tights and black suede wedges.

This one is a bit of a mix and match outfit, I'd personally wear this out at night or for dinner out, or I'd throw on my converse and denim jacket and go shopping in it. These lace leggings are so versatile! If you don't want to go for full on lace, you could go for a hint of lace like the picture below, with some lace edged cycling shorts.

How else would you wear lace?

Hey lovelies!

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend, mines been a bit rubbish with plans being cancelled last minute and being in a general rubbish mood, but I've got the house to myself today while Mum and Dad have gone out so I've taken lots of pictures for posts this week! Top five blushers....

I have TOO much love for blush!

Top l-r: Mac Fleur Power, Vivo (colour's rubbed off I don't know the shade!)
Bottom l-r: The BodyShop Petal, MeMeMe Coral, Topshop Head Over Heels

Mac Fleur Power was my first ever Mac blusher and the only one I've hit pan on and had to re-purchase. EVER! MeMeMe in coral is a really summer shade and I only really wear that with a tan but as soon as 'summer' hits us again this will be back in my everyday makeup bag. Everyone knows how amazing Topshop blushers are, no need for me to go into that! If you haven't tried a Vivo baked blush I suggest you do so NOW, one of my best finds of 2011. And The Body Shop blush has a highlighter built in it so need I say more?!?!

Would any of these make it into your top 5? If not, what would??

Weekly review....Soap & Glory for Daily Youth....

I've not had chance for one of these posts for a while what with getting used to my camera and getting the new hair done. I've been buying a lot of Soap & Glory products at the moment, they seem to always be on a 3 for 2 in Boots, and there's always something that really appeals to me! I needed a new daytime face moisturiser and am a sucker for anything from Soap&Gory.

As always, lovely packaging from Soap & Glory. The moisturisers claims to brighten skin, clear imperfections etc etc etc all the usual moisturiser claims. It comes in a 50ml pump bottle, and the actual moisturiser is quite a thin consistency that reminds me a bit of the Olay beauty fluid but with a slightly stronger scent (but strong in a very nice 'Soap&Glory' way).

I've been using this for about two months now and as much as I do think it's a gorgeous moisturiser, I'm not to sure it does everything it claims to do. It's £12 which in my opinion is quite expensive for a moisturiser but some people may disagree with this.

The one thing this is good for is a makeup base, for that job along this product is worth every penny. I have a bit of a love hate issue with primers, the only one I love is Benefit The Porefessional but I only really use this at night as it's quite expensive and does tend to sit quite heavy on my skin.

I pop this on first thing in the morning when I wake up, give it a couple of minutes to soak in to the skin while I shove my hair in a top knot, then apply my foundation as normal. I've got normal to oily skin so some would say a moisturiser as a primer is a bad idea but this would prove those people wrong. My makeup stays exactly where it should be for most of the day, makes it looks fresh and my skin glowing.

Overall I'd say if you're looking for a primer but aren't keen on some of the 'makeup' type primers around then definitely give this a go. Highly recommended!

You're my favourite...

Hey lovelies. Hope you're all having a nice relaxing Sunday, I'm currently lying horizontal on the sofa watching back to back episodes of Don't Tell The Bride! I went out with some of the girls last night to make the most of everyone being at home from Uni, and thoroughly enjoyed wearing a whole brand new outfit!

Earings & watch: ASOS
Lipstick: Mac Chatterbox
Eyelashes: Eylure 101

Top: River Island sale
Jeans: New Look (want these in EVER SINGLE COLOUR)
Boots: Office

I bought a watch from ASOS ages ago that's finally lost its gold coating and looks a bit 'worn' so I splashed out a whole £20 for a new one (last of the big spenders) to just wear daily to work etc.

I also went to get my nails done yesterday, they'd got far to long so I just had them filed right back down and squared back off again so make them more manageable and natural, then popped a coat of Models Own in pink punch on.

What's everyone got up to this weekend?

New year, new hair....

Hello lovelies

I've had the chop! After much debating, I've gone for a full fringe! Sorry about the random pics, playing with my new camera!!

Also, big love to Leanne for the mention on her blog, she's amazing so if you don't already check her out then do it now!!

Hope you all like the hair, this is without extensions so no doubt you'll see it longer than this in the future as I can't seem to live without them!

December empties....

I've seen a few people do similar posts to this and I thought it would be a good way to keep my spending under control, make sure I'm using the thing's I've got, and see what I chose to re purchase. These were my december empties, I focused on finishing up old mascara's, then there were a few essentials I finished like mouthwash and deodorant....all in all I think I did well for my first month!

Every month, for every five products I finish I'm allowing myself to buy another one (unless it's something I need to replace obviously....such as deodorant...)

Does anyone else give themselves this sort of rule?

Forget me not....

I've been having a bit of a new year clear out and was hunting through all my makeup, skincare etc I found a few things that I think I need to find replacements for. These products have served me fine for the past year or so, but they don't blow me away, and I think I can certainly improve on them!

Simple eye make up remover stings like a bitch and never really gets rid of all my waterproof mascara; I think I can do better. I also fancy a new liquid eyeliner that a novice like me can use without ballsing it up. The main thing though is brushes. I use my eyebrow brush everyday but it's starting to shed (it was only a pound and I have given it a bit of a battering over the months!) and I really want a decent contouring brush because...well...I don't have one!

If any of you have any suggestions for things I could try as replacements I'd love to know!

Are there any products you're looking to replace/upgrade in 2012?
