New dream mascara alert..

Now, I don't want to say anything rash here but I think I may have found something special. We're talking Benefit They're Real special. The newest offering from 17, the Falsifeye HD mascara, claims to lengthen and add volume to lashes creating something pretty special. I'll admit, the before and after picture on the box sold it to me (yep, an ex advertising student being sucked in my the packaging…awkward).

The actual mascara packaging is spot on. Sleek, black, simple, nice and substantial. The wand is everything I love from a mascara wand. Plastic, short bristles, easily loaded up with loads of product to make a quick 'one swipe' mascara job a real possibility. The wand reminds me a lot of They're Real, minus the spiky ball on the end, but this one tapers down to a nice fine point which makes it really easy to get into the inner lashes and coat the bottom lashes nice and easily without making one big mess.

So, to business. Bare lashes on the right, two coats on the left. I've since loaded up with three to four coats of this stuff and, thanks to the wand, it doesn't clump at all. It's super black, easily to manoeuvre the wand around the upper and lower lashes and get right into the roots thanks to the super spiky wand. I saw no signs of flaking or smudging, and I've done the ultimate test of sweating it out in the gym for a solid hour after an 8 hour shift at work and it looked just as perfect as when I'd applied it at 5am in the morning. And at around the £6 mark (they always have offers on so you can probably pick it up a bit cheaper) it's probably my new favourite find and a staple in my makeup bag.

What other drugstore mascaras does everyone love?

Weekly review... 17 Wild Metallics Eyes...

Now I'm not a huge eyeshadow fan, but I do sometimes go mad and treat my lids to a wash of a neutral colour across the lid. I've had this particular product sat in my draw for ages and not really reached for it until this past couple of weeks. It's a sort of mouse consistency, a lot softer than a Mac Paint Pot and really smooth to apply. It almost blends too easily so a little goes a long way!

I've got the colour Wild Nude (predictable!) and swatched looks like this (the swatch on the left is the product thickly applied, the right swatch is it blended out for more of a sheer finish)

The one problem with this is it does crease despite having an eye primer on, so I like to layer some powder eyeshadow over the top. For this I use a shade from the Sleek Storm Palette:

I use the pink shade, top row second from the top. Not only does it stop the 17 eye colour from creasing, it also really intensifies the colour..

Left swatch is the Sleek eyeshadow on it's own, middle swatch is a thick layer of 17 Metallic Eyes with the shadow over the top, and right is how I wear it: blended out with the shadow over the top to set it in place.

Has anyone else tried these eye shadows from 17? How else do you wear yours?

Weekly review....17 Cosmetics Supreme Shine Lipstick...

Hey lovelies! As you all know, lipstick is my thing. I'm now on about (oh god I can't believe I'm about to admit this) 84 in my collection and it's continually growing. So of course when I popped into Boots a while ago and saw the cheeky little blue 'new' sticker along side the 3 for 2 sign, I knew I had to give the new 17 Cosmetics Supreme Shine Lipsticks a go.
I usually like a high impact, matt, or bright coloured lippy, but I quite fancied some easier to wear shades for every day and work. These have got such a gorgeous finish, I wouldn't say they were particularly long lasting but they have a lovely glossy finish. The colour range is fairly good; everything from a vivid red to a pale nude. I picked up If You Please which looks a gorgeous bright pink in the tube and gives a lovely pink gloss to the lips:
(first time I've done lip pics and realise I have a seriously wonky mouth!)

Pink Posy is my favourite in the tube, but looks really disappointing on the lips in this picture, it looks almost identical to If You Please. It's supposed to be a purply pink shade but needs to be really layered to get the right effect. I actually popped this on yesterday with my Benefit lip plumper underneath which gave it a nice base to stick to and made the colour a bit stronger, but I never got a picture of it!

This one is Barely Blush, a lovely wearable 'your lips but better' colour. Overall I LOVE these and definitly want to add more to my collection. They're so affordable, £4.99 each but you can always pick the 17 brand up on some sort of offer.

(l-r) If You Please, Barely Blush, Pink Posy

Have you tried any other colours out of the range?
Hope you've all got a lovely weekend planned!
