The best of The Body Shop...

First up we have skincare - something that I'm quite minimal with as my skin is extremely oily so doesn't need too much fuss and product overload. My most recent purchase is the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil. I'd been using cream cleansers previously and found they were a real struggle to take off makeup with. This is an absolute dream; just one pump for eyes, another for skin, massage into dry skin until it turns milky and rinse off. Another night time product I've been loving is the Serum in Oil. I love using both serum AND oil on my face at night time but the combination of the two sometimes freaks my skin out, so finding this really light weight oil that combines the benefits of a serum was a dream!

My favourite face mask of all time, in the history of face masks, is the Warming Mineral Clay mask. This warms up as you apply it and doesn't dry hard like a lot of clay masks tend to do, so there's non of that dry, tight feeling after you've taken this off. I've been through about 4 tubes of the Vitamin E eye cream (which I have a review on here), I love this stuff! It doesn't try to do everything, it just keeps the area hydrated and makes eye makeup apply so much smoother. Finally, another much re-purchased product is the Mattifying Seaweed Day Cream. Oh lord I love this stuff. I can sometimes even just use this without a primer and my makeup just sits so much better. Any oily skinned girls out there… you need this one in your life!

For makeup, I recently caved in to the hype and bought the Honey Bronzer in shade 03 medium matte. I love it almost as much as Benefit Hoola, and lord knows I'm a big fan of that bad boy! It doesn't have any shimmer, and is a very natural bronze colour - you won't see any nasty orange face streaks with this one! I also love that they come in such light shades, perfect for the paler ones among us! My Nan picked up the Body Shop Shimmer Waves highlighter in Blush for me as a present when I came back from Australia and, whenever I've been sporting a pale to mid toned pink blush, I'm also wearing this without fail. It's a gorgeous subtle shimmery highlighter that can be built up to look quite dramatic, and can even be worn without a blush underneath if you take the colour from the top of the palette. The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes are a bit of a cult product and for very good reason. I mentioned them in my recent shopping my stash post and have used them almost every day since - especially the copper colour all over the lid and underneath the lower lash line.

Lastly are the Body Shop Lightening Touch pens; an absolute gem of a products and one that I think should be talked about a lot more. I have shade 03 which is perfect as a highlighter anywhere on the face, and my new discover in 01 which is a peach colour that I find counteracts my dark eye circles like a dream.

What other products should I try from The Body Shop? Any other cult products or underdogs that I need to get my hands on?

Mini Skincare Haul...

I stumbled on the Priceline two day 40% off skincare offer by chance last week and, lets face it, who was I to resist??

Biore warming anti-blackhead cleanser - I was about ready for a new cleanser of the 'face wash' variety, as I'm not a huge fan of cream cleansers that you take off with cotton wool - I never feel completely clean!  This one is oil free (perfect) and complexion clearing (even better as I've had a few pesky spots crop up recently). $12.99 before offer, $7.79 after offer.

Sukin hydrating mist toner - I was missing a toner from my routine since I came back to Australia and hadn't really noticed much of a difference in my skin, but I do love something refreshing to spritz on after cleansing or throughout the day to freshen up so this was perfect....all natural too! $9.99 before offer, $6 after offer.

Skin Doctors No More Pores night treatment - This was the random splurge of the day, I was in no way in need of another night cream of any sort but anything that claims to calm down my pores and remove excess oil is a winner in my books. $29.99 before offer, $17.99 after offer.

Hydraluron Moisture Booster - I'd ran out of my serum last week and had heard every blogger and her mother raving about this so after a lot of careful research and consideration decided I would splash out and get it. Finding out it was 40% off made my heart do a little skip of joy. $34.99 before offer, $20.99 after offer.

I can't wait to try some of these out and I'll let you know how I found them!

Whatever happened to ageing gracefully? It got old...

Please excuse the Sex and The City quote for the title of this blog, I've decided to start from the very beginning of my box set (again) to cure man-less boredom in the evening!

I absolutely had to write this post to tell you all about another new discovery of mine. One of my mums friends introduced me to this a while ago and, while it did take me a couple of months to bite the bullet and splash out on the £32 price tag, I decided I had to try it.

It's an Aloe Nourishing Serum, with extracts of white tea to preserve and replenish skin. Now with such a hefty price tag (at least to me anyway) I haven't been using it morning and night every day. So far I've had it nearly two weeks, and been applying it to my neck and chest to try and even out my skin there where my horrible rash has been from my allergic reaction to a fake tan (less said about that the better!) I can honestly say it's made a huge difference, my skin is so soft, the rash has gone and even though there's still a bit of redness left, I hope that using this for a bit longer will eventually get rid of that. I've also used it on my face every other night and it makes my skin feel incredible in the morning. I wouldn't use it in the morning as I have quite oily skin and it is quite heavy.

I'd say in conclusion, the actual product is amazing, the price tag is a little bit off putting initially but a little bit goes a very long way and I think it will last me for ages. I'd never pick this up if I saw it on the shelf, mainly because (cue shallow moment) the packaging doesn't really do anything for me, but who cares when we're talking about a miracle in a bottle!!

You can take a look at it here, and they have loads of other products so take a look around.

Do any of you use a serum? Do you use it as well as a moisturiser?
