The only way is....

So summer is officially here (apparently) and today is the longest day. Deeply depressing!

On a totally other topic, if you have me on Twitter you'll probably have heard me bang on about seeing Chloe from TOWIE on Saturday night in my local night club. It was an Only Way Is Essex night and she was doing a meet and greet....any way I got far to drunk on wine, and ended walking home with a box of chicken nuggets as the sun was coming up. Always a sign of a good night!

I took a couple of pictures before we went out, and it seems like I was thoroughly enjoying the thumbs up/cheesy smile pose....

Steph wore a FIT leopard print dress from Lipsy and black ballet pumps from Barratts.

I wore a Forever 21 skirt, H&M coral top, Primark socks and jewellery from Primark/ Chelsea Doll. And just because the shoes are SO hot, I took you all a close up to drool over....

Oh yea, and this was BEFORE we went out...... (lets face it, there's no hope judging by this picture!)

Oooops nearly forgot the reason we went out, the beautiful Chloe Sims .....

And so there's a huge gap in my life....

Yes, I will miss The Only Way Is Essex and I’m pretty much counting down the days until the next series, but WOW what a series!!

Favourite bits have got to be:

Bozo: more of him next series please. When Lauren was DJ’ing at Marks pool party and he was stood on the decks…CUTE!

The Kirk vs Maria fight: as much as I love both of them, god Kirk was a tosser! ‘You’re just an extra’ was a little below the belt for someone who was only trying to stick up for her best friend, and making her cry at Harry’s party was really unnecessary. Despite this, I have watched the clip countless times. Brilliant viewing.

Nanny Pat dressed as the Queen: Harry’s party was full of weird and very wonderful fancy dress ideas (apart from Mark…make some effort boy!) but Nanny Pat as The Queen stole the show. I mean come on, who else could she have been??

Gemma’s sales techniques: as soon as she walked onto the car forecourt in the attempt at selling Kirk a car, I knew I’d love her. Yes so she wears her heart on her sleeve (maybe the apple pie was a bit too far!) and she got far too attached to Mick too quickly, but then again that’s a girls prerogative and I’m sure we’ve all been there. I know I have, and I don’t think I coped with it with quite as much dignity as she did!

The Proposal: maybe the most unromantic, unspectacular proposal I’ve ever seen, but everybody took a moment to think ‘maybe he’s changed’ when Mark popped the question to Lauren after finding out she’d had her tattoo removed. Follow this with a string of silly arguments, him acting like a chauvinistic pic, being over protective about her leaving the house yet won’t have her picture on his bedroom wall, and of course the fantastic finale to season 2 with the ‘lets push Mark in the pool at his own party and everyone will cheer’ moment. More drama between those two than all the soaps put together. I cannot wait to see the wedding.

Sam embarrassing herself. Again. Telling Mark she loved him when he’s just proposed to Lauren made me feel both embarrassed for her and sad for her in equal measures. I know what it feels like to be ditched in the same way, but she could have kept her dignity. Not saying it wasn’t great viewing though.

Glamping: somebody take me???

Arg’s belly: no carbs before marbs Arg. Step away from the macaroons and go for a run. Marks constant jibes about Arg’s weight, and Lydias attempt to get him to a slimming class clearly have not made much difference as poor Arg is still carrying the pounds. Maybe next series he’ll have transformed into a greek god?

Joey Essex. I appreciate this isn’t a ‘moment’ but I couldn’t pick one. From his invention of the word ‘reem’ (and I’m happy top admit I overuse this A LOT) to his date with Sam at the dump with his Thomas the Tank Engine yogurts. Oh and don’t forget his trainers two sizes too small for him so they don’t get creases in ‘tall and reem’. His reem parties need to be making many appearances in season 3 though, and please let me comeee???? Oh and I nearly forgot the hairdryer/blowdryer situation. Yes Joey, they’re the same thing. He may ask to many questions ‘You having fun yea, you loving it? Fun though aint it? Did you enjoy yourself’ but he’s SO cute and maybe gets better looking every episode? But no Joey, you’re not part Spanish! ‘Ola!’

The Spring Clean....

Mum scared me the other day and warned me that I’ll have countless spiders and months making a nice comfy home in my wardrobe if I don’t get it sorted. Now this was probably only a scare-mongering tactic for me so I’d get of my lazy bum and sort out the mess I call my wardrobe, but it worked and this weekend is being dedicated to my beautiful wardrobe and clothes/shoes/jewellery. I won’t be happy unless I throw out a MINIMUM of two bin bags full of stuff, most of which I’ll try and sell at a car-boot sale.

Although I will admit, I’m rubbish at this job. I get all indecisive and say ‘ooo well I might wear it one day’ and then 3 clearouts down the line it’s still there, hanging up, un-worn, looking very sorry for itself indeed. So this time, if I’ve not worn it in the past 12 months (see, that covers all seasons!) its out. If I pick it out of my wardrobe and go ‘hang on I forgot I’d had this’ then it clearly can’t be very special and it’s going to byebye! (There are of course exceptions to this and if it’s a treasure it stays).

As for everything else….if the shoes hurt, they’re not welcome anymore. If the rings are a bit too small and send my finger green, seeya. And if the earrings or headband have been seen on Becky McDonald or anyone else similar from Corrie, then into the unwanted pile they go. I’m holding no prisoners.

So anyway this is my challenge. All clothes, coats, shoes, accessories, beauty products and anything else in between will be sorted, cleaned, tried on, mended and put back into perfect order in my walk in wardrobe before The Only Way is Essex at 10pm on Sunday Night.

This is the state of it right now, I've only been doing it for an hour and I've made more mess than anything else....

I won’t be blogging much over the weekend as I’ve got a busy one planned as well as this spring clean challenge, so wish me luck and I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.....!

Essex Fashion....

Some people would call this an oxymoron. I personally think it makes sense.

Let’s look at a few examples:

Who doesn’t love a (slimming) all black outfit? Black wet look leggings and a floaty black top with lace detailing sounds spot on right? Add a pair of heels to make it glamorous and bob’s your uncle.
Now take a look at Jess and tell me she doesn’t look incredible (this top is also New Look so you can forget what you hear about having to wear designer to look this good).

How about enhancing your eyes with makeup?
Lauren opts for a subtle yet effective smokey eye along with pale glossy lips. Effortlessly beautiful.

Heels in the day? Teamed with pencil skirt and vintage top, Lydia rocks it. And the heels? They’re New Look.

And the maxi dress?
Maria goes high-street for her coloured flowing maxi underneath a gorgeous jacket.

OK so they sometimes get it wrong; but who doesn’t. The only difference is, when I wear a too tight/too slutty dress on a night out that flashes my pants and becomes see-through at the flash of a camera bulb, the whole of the ITV2 viewing public don’t see it.

(sorry I love you Amy but I'm just not too convinced on this one....)

I know that if I had the option to be as glamorous in my daily life as they can be, I certainly would. However I don’t think this....

....is suitable to be sat behind a desk trying to book a Hog Roast for 50 people at a housing development in North Hykeham.

This isn’t to say that I don’t try and add a bit of essex into my everyday life.

There’s always got to be some pink (Amy Childs, we share the same opinion on this!)

and I am a false eyelash addict (eyelure double lashes are incredible)

It’s got to be big hair, and tan tan tan! I would actually give my entire shoe collection (but can you please spare my River Island brown wooden heeled sandles?) to go to Amy’s Salon for an Amy Childs tan: “nice and brown but just a bit orange” (I love that girl).

Anybody who rocks highstreet the way they do and look so fab deserves some recognition in the style stakes, and not dismissed as ‘essex girls’. Quite frankly, I love them all and I’m insanely ‘jel’ of their wardrobe and lifestyle combined.
