Checked shirt and ripped jeans OOTD….

Mono-chrome, ripped denim, oversized checked shirt. All the elements for an absolute perfect fail safe outfit. I'll be swapping the sandals for boots now it's getting colder and throwing on a leather jacket (obvs) but I can see this being a staple look for the Autumn/Winter transition. An oversized mans watch   (and Mac Rebel) is all the accessorising this look needs.

P.S. Boohoo.com are where it's at for oversized shirts.

Checks, denim, Dr Marten OOTD….

Shirt - Topshop
Shorts - Sportsgirl
Bag - Collarado @ Strandbags
Boots - Dr Martens
Belt - Dorothy Perkins
Sunglasses - Ray Ban
Watch - ASOS
Nails - Essie Blanc
Lips - Mac Morange

I love those carefully planned outfits that look thrown together. I've been searching for an oversized black and white checked shirt and finally found this one hiding behind a load of other checked numbers in the Birmingham Bullring Topshop. Paired with some denim shorts and black boots I just love how thrown together the whole thing looked. And, as always, my colour injection for this outfit came in the form of a nice bright lipstick…all hail Mac Morange as being my absolute favourite bright lipstick. Ever.

What's everyone else's go-to outfits at the moment?

Three ways to wear....lace....

I used to own a lot of lace but realised there was only certain ways it could be worn to look good. Browsing through my wardrobe I decided to pull some of the pieces out that I still own and put a few looks together to show you how I wear lace.

Smart: I'd wear this look for work, basically just a lace shirt from the New Look sale a few years ago, with some black jeggings and the Allegra boots from Topshop. For cooler days, I'd pop a blazer over the top.

Night out: I'm not one for dresses but this is a real old staple in my wardrobe. It was about £13 from Primark and I've worn it to death but if I ever need to 'dress up' I have this as an option. I just paired it with a nude bag, some black tights and black suede wedges.

This one is a bit of a mix and match outfit, I'd personally wear this out at night or for dinner out, or I'd throw on my converse and denim jacket and go shopping in it. These lace leggings are so versatile! If you don't want to go for full on lace, you could go for a hint of lace like the picture below, with some lace edged cycling shorts.

How else would you wear lace?

My week in outfits...

Cannot believe I haven't blogged all week! I've hardly even been on blogger to see what you've all been up to which has been annoying. Basically I've been so busy, worked every day then just had plans every night, nothing particularly exciting just dinner with the girls, drinks with friends, then I went out with work on Friday, recovered yesterday then went out with the girls last night! Busy week! Anyway I've tried to save a bit of money so not bought much, however I did manage a quick Topshop spree on Thursday to finally get my american flag denim shorts, which I actually wore Friday night and last night! Great purchase!

This was a work outfit on one of the cooler days at the end of the week, just a simple oversized shirt from Primark over leggings. I also wore my hair extensions straight which I almost NEVER do. And from this picture you can see why!

This was for a catchup with one of my best friends who came back from Maga, we just went the pub and it had been such a beaut day so I wore my dark denim high waisted shorts from Miss Selfridge with a baggy rose pink Primark tshirt.

Now I do love this outfit, just not on me. It's one of those skirts that you want to be able to wear, but that looks hideous actually on me. The skirt was from primark and I wore it with my coral New Look wedges and just a plain black vest. Like I said...loved the outfit, just not on me! I was in look with my makeup on this, very plain but with one of my Sleek Pout Paints in Milkshake!

Easily my favourite outfit of the week! I went for a drink on Wednesday in town, and went for my Primark skinny pale blue jeans (SO TIGHT!) with my Office boat shoes and coral Urban Outfitters handbag. I can't wait to wear these jeans again!

This is pretty standard for me, denim shorts, tights, checked shirt and trainers. This was just for dinner with the girls, and this t-shirt was about a year old and I'd never worn it. So I ended up cutting the neck and sleeves out and made it a vest. The design is amazing, two skulls kissing surrounded by flowers and other random things.

This one is pretty similar to the last one, I went to the zoo today with a friend so just threw on my old faithful New Look high waisted shorts with converse and checked shirt, plus the sunglasses of course!!

Lovely toilet picture here! Sorry about that! These are my new Topshop shorts, they horrendously short but absolutely worth it! I wore them with just a plain black Primark body, my Office shoes and urban outfitters bag. Lush outfit, I love it!

So that's it really, I also got a load of new Model's Own nail varnishes so hopefully have lots of nice nail of the day's coming up. I found an amazing nail combination this week, I'll definitely be wearing this all the time now.

Just a really barbie pink from H&M, with Pink Fizz from models own over the top. SO girlie and glittery, can't go wrong!
Anyway hopefully I'll get back onto blogging again this week, I've got the Witch face primer to review for you, such an amazing product, and I promise you'll get my top 10 lip product post!

Tears dry on their own....

OK yes I know that's quite a depressing title but it's just a little tribute to the amazingly talented Amy Winehouse, from my fave song of hers. Such a shame :(

Anyway enough of that, hello lovelies :) Hope you've all had an amazing weekend, I had a fab night out last night with a couple of the girls, but I'm paying for it now, I'm SO tired and I couldn't even manage to finish my Nando's earlier! Must be bad! I got a couple of shots before we went out, and had a little play on photobooth (standard pre-night out activity so it would seem!) .....

ME: Top: H&M
Jeans: Primark
Shoes: Office
Jewellery: Mainly Primark and H&M

STEPH: Top: River Island
Skirt: Topshop
Shoes: Faith
Jewellery: Mainly Dorothy Perkins

I am in love with these jeans, even though it did take a few lunges and trips up and down the stairs to loosen them up because they were practically sprayed on!

I popped into Leicester with the parents today, I didn't need/want anything except a free meal from them but I did pick up a couple of bits in H&M.....

Just some standard jewellery, nothing too amazing, but I am really into these sort of bracelets at the moment. Their only downfall is taking them off at half three in the morning after a night out where I thought it would be a good idea to pile them on....yes this was the exact scenario from half three this morning, I think I must have given up halfway through because I woke up wearing most of them this morning. Also, a quick snap of my OOTD from today, could NOT be bothered so it was my standard outfit of checked shirt, denim shorts, tights and trainers.

Shirt: Forever 21
Black vest: Primark
Shorts: Topshop
Tights: Primark
Trainers: Nike vintage blazers at Office
Rings: Dorothy Perkins
Lipstick: Brighton Rocks by Topshop

Big Weekend...

Well for Radio 1 anyway, which I've been listening to all day so far and am absolutely loving. Of course I'd love to be there but it was a bit of a mission from Leicester so I never bothered registering for tickets. Ellie Goulding has been a highlight so far, she's just incredible.

I, on the other one, have had the opposite of a big weekend. I'm exactly half way through my detox, still no alcohol and a whole load of very healthy food. I'm feeling so much better for it, but have had to brighten up my sober evenings and non-hungover days with a little bit of shopping. I popped into town with Mum today just to browse Boots and such-like (there's not much on offer in Hinckley in fairness) and ended up in one of my fave haunts, Kerrie Anne's. I'm not sure if this is a country-wide thing, but I know we have one in Hinckley and there's one in Nuneaton. It's basically end of range makeup sold of cheaply, and you find some real bargains in there.

I'm a huge fan of W7 as a cheap makeup brand. Anybody tried it? I've had a couple of their nail varnishes and coloured eyeliners in the past. I tend to buy random items from there, like strange shades of eyeshadow that I'm not sure if I'll like, instead of spending a lot on them from Mac or anywhere else. I went for this nail varnish today, because well...it's orange AND sparkly!!

You really can't tell on here but it is BRIGHT!! I mean seriously neon! They don't have colour shades or numbers on W7 nail varnishes which is annoying, but if you ever see this one in a shop you won't miss it, so so bright! Bit of a bargain of £1.70 and is quite a big bottle that lasts ages, although I do find it goes quite lumpy quite fast so I add a couple of drops of nailvarnish remover to it before I use it and give it a good shake and it's fine.

I also went for a W7 blusher as well, which is unusual for me as I'm a big BIG Mac blusher fan. However, if I go on a night out I do like to take my blusher out with me for a top up and I don't like the idea of taking my Mac one out with me for it to get smashed or lost, so I always have a cheap alternative.  This one is really pinky which is totally different from my usual darker hue of Mac Fleaur Power, but when I'm out (and drunk) I don't trust myself with such a dark shade, I'm safer with brighter colours!

The swatch on my hand is a bit rubbish, wouldn't show up on camera properly sorry!

It's a nice colour when it's on that you can build up as much as you want, it goes on REALLY bright and with a nice solid colour if you layer it up!

I couldn't decide on an outfit today, I got ready once and changed my mind, but I took pictures of both. Really casual today, went for the Blazers and ended up wearing them with a Primark checked shirt and my Sass and Bide jeans rolled up....

Anyway I'm going to spend the rest of my evening watching So You Think You Can Dance and the Eurovision with a big pizza (It's Saturday after all, I deserve a treat!) Hope everyones having a good weekend!!
